Privacy, in plain language.

Seeld is a private, local-first memory vault. This policy explains what stays on your device, what your account stores, and the choices you control.

1. Scope and who we are

This Privacy Policy applies to the Seeld mobile application and the Seeld website. Seeld is provided by Break’s Point LLC (“Seeld,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). It does not cover third-party services you open from Seeld under their own terms.

2. What stays on your device

Seeld requires an account to enter the app, but every new moment is written to the local vault on your device before backup or sharing begins. Photos, short videos, captions, and local capsule details remain available on that device during a temporary connection interruption. Signed-in moments are then backed up automatically.

If you allow Photo Library access, Seeld can let you choose an existing photo and may look at photo dates on the device to suggest older days during recovery. Seeld does not upload your full photo library or collect photo-location data. Seeld does not collect biometric information or your address book.

3. Information Seeld processes

When you create or use an account, we may process:

  • Account and profile details: email address, display name, username, birth year, account identifier, time zone, locale, and authentication information. Passwords are handled by our authentication provider and are not shown inside Seeld.
  • Memories and communications: photos, short videos, captions, capsule notes, messages, reactions, dates, and the people or timelines you choose for delivery. Moments are backed up to the signed-in account automatically. New camera recordings are silent. Older backups and imported media may contain audio.
  • Social and safety information: friend relationships, invitations, blocks, reports, the reported account or capsule, the selected reason, and any note you choose to add.
  • Device and notification details: a random installation identifier, push token, platform, app version, operating-system version, and device name when you choose to enable notifications.
  • Limited diagnostics: production builds may send a filtered crash report containing an error, stack trace, app version, operating-system version, and coarse device model. These reports are configured not to include screenshots, view contents, network bodies, interaction history, email, account ID, or memory content.

4. How we use information

We process information only as needed to:

  • create and secure accounts;
  • back up signed-in moments after they are saved locally and restore them when requested;
  • deliver shared capsules, messages, invitations, reactions, and notifications;
  • honor audience choices, blocks, reports, and account-deletion requests;
  • prevent abuse, investigate safety issues, and protect the service; and
  • diagnose crashes, maintain reliability, and comply with law.

We do not sell personal information. We do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, use it to build an advertising profile, or track you across other companies’ apps or websites.

5. When information is disclosed

Stories are visible to eligible current friends for the 12 or 24 hours you choose. After expiry, the original memory remains in your private vault. When you open a shared Moment, Seeld can record your account and the time it was opened and show that information to the person who shared it in “Seen by.”

Information may be disclosed in these limited circumstances:

  • People you choose: a shared memory, message, reaction, profile detail, or timeline is shown only according to the audience and relationship you selected.
  • Service providers: providers support authentication, database and media storage, push delivery, hosting, and privacy-filtered crash reporting. They may process information only to provide those services to us.
  • Safety and legal reasons: we may preserve or disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with law, respond to valid legal process, investigate abuse, or protect someone’s safety, rights, or security.
  • Business changes: information may transfer as part of a merger, financing, acquisition, reorganization, or sale, subject to this policy and applicable law.

Connected content is protected with access controls, restricted storage paths, and encrypted network connections. Seeld is not an end-to-end encrypted service; authorized systems can process connected content when required to provide backup, delivery, safety, and recovery features.

6. Retention and deletion

Local memories remain on your device until you delete them or remove the app. Connected account information is kept while your account is active and as needed to provide the service. Safety, security, and legal records may be retained longer where reasonably necessary or required by law.

You can request account deletion in Settings > Password & account. New requests start a 14-day cancellation period; signing back in before the deadline cancels them. Existing requests keep the deadline shown when submitted. After that date, connected account data and associated uploaded media, including recap videos, are queued for permanent removal. Residual copies may remain temporarily in routine disaster recovery backups before aging out under our retention schedule.

Account deletion does not remove the separate local vault on your phone. Use Settings > Delete local memories or delete the app to remove that copy.

7. Your choices and rights

You can:

  • keep capturing into the local vault during a temporary connection interruption;
  • change Camera, Photo Library, and Notification access in your phone’s Settings;
  • edit profile information and remove, block, or report people in Seeld;
  • export a list of your memories from Settings;
  • delete local memories or request deletion of a connected account; and
  • ask to access, correct, or delete personal information, subject to applicable law.

Depending on where you live, you may also have rights to obtain a copy, restrict or object to processing, withdraw consent, or appeal a privacy decision. We will not discriminate against you for using a privacy right.

8. Children

Seeld is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from a child under 13. If you believe a child has provided information to Seeld, contact us so we can review and remove it where required.

9. Security and international processing

We use administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect connected information. No storage or transmission system is completely secure, so keep originals of anything irreplaceable. If something is missing from this phone, use Restore memories in Settings before removing another copy.

Information may be processed where we and our service providers operate. When required, we use safeguards intended to support lawful international transfers.

10. This website

Seeld’s public support, privacy, and invitation pages do not use advertising trackers, analytics scripts, or cookies. Our hosting provider may process ordinary request data, such as IP address, browser type, requested URL, and timestamp, to deliver and secure the site. Invitation pages display only the invitation code contained in the URL and never display a capsule, sender identity, photo, video, or message.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as Seeld changes. The effective date above will change when we publish an update. If a change materially affects your rights, we will provide additional notice where required.
